The exhaust flange is unfortunately a very delicate and expensive part of the engines made in Austria, in the event of an impact on the exhaust(and especially using exhaust guards) the hit is largely accused by the cylinder, causing the flange to break, the S3 protection greatly strengthens this part avoiding costly replacements
